Hemingway entered his absinthe cocktail into a selection of celebrity drinks recipes, compiled in a 1935 masterpiece called “So Red the Nose, or, Breath in the Afternoon”. This legendary book contains cocktail recipes by 30 leading authors of its time.

“Pour one jigger absinthe into a Champagne glass. Add iced Champagne until it attains the proper opalescent milkiness. Drink three or five of these slowly”.
