This Easter Sunday falls on the 93rd anniversary of Absinthe’s ban in Germany. Of course the ban was lifted some time ago, in 1991, when Germany adopted the EU rules on thujone in spirits – but it’s worth remembering that it has not always been so easy to enjoy The Green Fairy. The ban went as far as to prohibit the distribution of printed materials that explained absinthe’s production! The majority of absinthe being enjoyed in Germany at the time would have been French & Swiss, and today La Fée’s range is available throughout Germany, with our importer Bremer Spirituosen Contor.
